Tucked behind two gates and down a well-lit path next to the garage, this tiny house offers privacy, charm, and a touch of history. Once a Prohibition-era speakeasy frequented by Al Capone, it originally sat by the old railroad station down the street before being moved to its current spot in the 1960s. At about 360 sq ft (including the loft), it’s cozy and efficient, with a kitchenette, shower, toilet, and queen bed, plus an additional queen bed in the loft. A private patio surrounded by greenery is perfect for relaxing, and the dog-friendly beach is just 700 yards away. 💡 Important: This is a small space—ideal for 2, tight for 3, and very tight for 4. T 🌿 Solar powered with battery backup, no natural gas is used. A quiet, eco-friendly getaway with a fascinating past.
House Rules
No late-night loud noise past 9 pm. The Firepit has been discontinued due to fire danger. Only the number of people on the reservation are permitted to stay. Extra adults are $20 per night per adult up to a maximum of 4 (small children exempted). No more than 4 people are permitted to stay. If you choose to have 4 people stay we promise that it will be very tight. Four adults especially - it's a Tiny House -- 260 square feet. It's small. Please check the privacy setup-- the shower opens up onto the main area and may not be suitable for all guests. Also, there is limited privacy from the loft to the main sleeping area. There is only one sink -- the kitchen sink. Meaning there is no sink in the toilet area. Please rinse off anything sandy outside on the patio using the hose provided. Nothing sandy in the shower, sink, or inside. There is a security camera that is recording all traffic in and out of the cottage in the pathway to the cottage. Parking is only in front of 408 Grove St, or on the side of this same house. Absolutely no parking in front of other houses, please.

This space is ideal for families and very close friends as privacy is limited so please scrutinize the pictures closely before booking. We are pet-friendly hosts and welcome your pet friends. We ask that your pets stay off of the beds. We have dog beds available . We provide bags to help you pick up after your dog on the property as well as in the neighborhood and the beach. This is a quiet neighborhood and we prefer not to host wedding guests and guests of parties as you will be coming and going late at night and this is disruptive.

Accessibility and Availability
Neighborhood
The cottage is on the west side of historic Highway One (The side where the beach is) so you don't have to cross any busy streets to stroll down to the beach. Access to miles and miles of trails and pristine beaches is literally a 7 minute walk away. This is a regular neighborhood so there will be dogs barking, kids playing, and neighbors getting up early in the morning to go to work.
Guest Access
Guest access is through a side gate to the left of the garage. You will go through two gates before arriving into your private space. The door to the right of you as you walk along the alley between the two gates belong to housekeeping You have your own private yard and private building. You will not be sharing any space with the residents of the main house but please be aware that our neighbors are very close by and many have bedrooms around the your yard so please be aware of it and follow our house rules regarding noise. The neighbors all know each other and keep a keen eye on things. We feel very safe in this neighborhood. Parking is only permitted along the property itself-- no parking in front of neighbors' houses.

You need a car to get here but once you get here you can walk/bike to town (across a small highway that has a cross walk on Poplar st., 2 blocks North of here) where you will find great food and some touristic shopping. Accessing the beach is merely a 7 minute walk.
